For first-time French Bulldog owners, bringing home a pup that has already gone through a structured training and development program can make the transition into dog ownership feel far less overwhelming.
Getting any dog is a major responsibility, one that may be by your side for the next 10 to 15 years. That’s why we believe there’s real value in working with breeders who truly understand the breed’s temperament, personality, and behavioral tendencies. A properly developed French Bulldog can often make the adjustment period easier for both the dog and the family, especially for first-time owners who may still be learning what life with the breed looks like.
We intentionally spend time the first year of our pups’ lives helping guide them through important developmental stages so they’re best prepared to thrive in their forever homes. During that time, we focus on exposure to the real world, establishing structure and routine within a home environment, healthy eating habits, socialization with people, places and animals, confidence-building and overall companionship development. The goal is to help set the foundation for a smooth transition into a life between you and your future companion.
Our pups become available at different stages depending on their level of development.
Our Foundation Pups are typically ready to go home before six months of age. These pups have already begun their early developmental foundations and are a great fit for families who still want to experience a large portion of the puppy stage while receiving a pup that has already had intentional structure and guidance early on.
Our Developed Pups begin becoming available at six months of age. By this stage, they’ve had more time to mature, adapt to routines, build confidence, and continue progressing through our training and development program.
Our Complete Companions are available once they reach one year of age or once they’ve successfully met the standards and milestones required within our program. These dogs have undergone the highest level of development we provide and are intended for families looking for a more established companion with a stronger behavioral and lifestyle foundation already in place.
Availability varies depending on the individual puppy and where they currently are within their development journey. However, all of our pups may be reserved or purchased during any stage in training, with pricing adjusted to reflect the level of development and care invested into that companion.
Choosing a trained French Bulldog can make the transition into dog ownership much smoother, especially for families who want to spend more time enjoying their companion and less time feeling overwhelmed by the early stages of training.
Dogs, regardless of breed, require structure, guidance, and consistency throughout their entire lives. A trained dog is not a “finished” dog, but rather a dog that has already been intentionally prepared to become a better companion within a home environment. At Shawty Got Pups, The SGP development program focuses on exposing our pups to important foundations like routine, socialization, potty training, basic obedience, handling, confidence-building, and everyday household experiences.
The goal is to help remove some of the heavier lifting that often comes with raising a young puppy completely from scratch. By the time one of our developed companions joins their forever home, they’ve already had experience learning structure and adapting to expectations, which can help reduce stress for both the dog and the owner.
For many families, this allows them to focus more on bonding with their Frenchie, building their relationship, and continuing to reinforce the skills their companion already knows rather than starting from zero. It creates a smoother adjustment period and helps set both the dog and their new family up for long-term success together.
Yes. Our pups can be reserved or purchased at any point throughout their development program.
As each puppy progresses through different stages of training and overall development, their pricing adjusts to reflect the level of time, structure, and work that has already been invested into them. This allows families the flexibility to bring home a companion at the stage that best fits their lifestyle.
Some families may prefer bringing home a younger companion earlier in development so they can experience more of the puppy phase themselves, while others may prefer a more established companion that has already undergone additional training..
Regardless of when a puppy goes home, the goal of our program remains the same – to help prepare each French Bulldog to become the best companion possible for their future family.
The pricing of our trained and developed French Bulldogs varies depending on the individual puppy, their stage of development, and the level of training and structure they’ve already completed within our program.
Our Foundation Companions typically begin around $5,000+, with pricing increasing as additional time, development, socialization, training, and lifestyle preparation are invested into the dog.
Detailed pricing information may be listed directly on a puppy’s individual profile page. You’re also always welcome to contact us directly about the companion you’re interested in, and we can provide a more personalized breakdown of their current level of development and pricing.
Each stage of our development program follows its own set of standards, routines, and developmental goals designed around a puppy’s age, maturity level, and overall progression. Throughout the program, our team focuses on helping shape healthy behaviors, confidence, structure, socialization, routine, and overall companionship development in alignment with the standards set in place for each stage of the program.
Companions in development may also be exposed to additional training environments through professional trainers and canine behavioral specialists.
Yes. Potty training begins very early within our program, and it’s something we consistently build on throughout each puppy’s development journey.
Our pups are introduced to designated potty areas from a young age so they can begin developing healthy habits early on. By the time a puppy reaches the Developed Companion stage, they are typically already pee pad trained, familiar with going outside to use the bathroom, and have a much stronger understanding of household routine and expectations.
Every dog will still need time to adjust to their new home once they leave our care. However, our goal is to make that transition as smooth as possible by creating strong potty training foundations before they join their forever family.
To reserve a French Bulldog currently enrolled in our training and development program, you can contact us directly or submit an inquiry through our contact form. Once we receive your inquiry, a member of our team will reach out to discuss the companion you’re interested in and the next steps in the reservation process.
Because each puppy progresses through development at their own pace, we encourage families to reach out directly so we can help match you with the companion that best fits your lifestyle, preferences, and experience level.
